New feature of Leaf Area Measurement with Petiole and smartphone camera, based on Computer Vision algorithms, is coming

We are constantly looking for new feature of leaf area measurement for mobile application Petiole. Hence, today we’ve decided to tell you a little bit more about the specific improvements, which are coming for Petiole.

Yesterday we sent our regular Newsletter (check your email, it has to be already there). And today we want to announce one of our technological achievements. We have worked on this improvement for a last couple of month.
So if you open up your Petiole mobile app today, you’ll notice that things look a little different (particularly, in camera calibration).

Petiole has been tested for different varieties of corn and we are constantly looking for new feature of leaf area measurement

In response to feedback from users, we have updated our mobile app to better serve the needs. The main improvement is that now you can use several calibration pads for area measurement of leaves with any sizes.
Want to measure leaf of wheat – no problem! You have a coffee leaf – that’s also completely fine. Doing leaf area measurement in viticulture – our mobile application works fine with this type of leaves too. Finally, leaves of corn (captured in the photo) are also waiting to be measured by our updated Petiole 🙂.

More details you will hear from us in the next newsletter but now we’d love to hear from you. If you have any questions or run into any issues with the new feature of the Petiole app, please reach out to us here or at support@petioleapp.com. Thanks!
